Interested in a career as a licensed Journeyman electrician for an establish Charleston electrical contractor?

Many people begin their career in the electrical industry as an entry-level laborer position or as an electrician’s helper but unlike many traditional electrical contractors, Transworld, Inc. Electrical Contractors only hires licensed electricians. Safety is essential in the electrical industry and ensuring that all our electricians are licensed certifies that they have the training and skills necessary to deliver the high-quality electrical work that we promise to our customers.

For those interested in pursuing a career as a licensed Journeyman electrician, we offer a four-year apprenticeship program. The apprenticeship program combines classroom and on-the-job training that will help prepare you for the Journeyman electrical exam. Passing the Journeyman electrician exam is necessary for advancing your career in the construction industry.

The essential responsibilities and duties of an apprentice include attending 144 hours of classroom instruction and approximately 2,000 hours of on-the-job training each year. During the four years of training, each individual will experience several areas of field training including the opportunity of working on service trucks for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical projects.  This allows maximum exposure to the many different aspects of the electrical industry.

The apprenticeship program is a great opportunity for anyone interested in a career in the electrical industry. It is not required to have any electrical knowledge prior to entering into the apprenticeship program and Transworld, Inc. Electrical Contractors pays the full cost of the program. Job opportunities are expected to be excellent as demand for skilled electricians is expected to outpace the supply of workers trained. Although construction activities have been shown to fluctuate with economic conditions, the employment of electricians is generally less sensitive to changes in economic conditions than other construction trades. Even when construction activity declines, maintenance, rehabilitation, and replacement of existing piping systems provide many jobs for Electricians. Additional benefits include electricians, being among the highest paid construction occupations.

In addition to our apprenticeship program, we provide all our employees with the latest training in safety, technical, and leadership skills so each employee can advance in their career. We are always preparing our employees for any circumstance, whether they are learning from mentors on the job, conferences, or in the classroom. We take pride in our employees and provide them with the necessary tools to succeed and we promote advancement at every level in the organization.
