Since COVID-19, many people have transitioned to working more from home. Check out the How To Save Energy In Your Home Office blog where we shared ways you can save energy and keep your electrical bill under control while working from home.
Here are 4 energy-saving tips:
-
If you’re not using it turn it off.
This applies to any lighting, appliances, and electronics in your home or office. We recommend using a power strip so you can easily turn off multiple items at once.
-
Energy-efficient lighting.
Lighting accounts for about 15% of a typical residential utility bill. This can be drastically reduced by upgrading to energy-efficient halogen incandescents, CFLs, and LEDs.
-
Clean or change air filters.
A dirty filter will slow down airflow and make the system work 2-3x harder to keep you warm or cool. Changing out your filters monthly with help prevent this from happening.
-
Ceiling Fans
Using your ceiling fan will allow you to raise the thermostat setting to about 4°F with no reduction in comfort.
