Electrical testing assures that the installed electrical equipment and system are operational, within the applicable standards and tolerances, and are installed in accordance with the manufacturers specifications. Failure to perform electrical testing on new equipment can result in costly repairs in the future as shared below.

Transworld, Inc. Electrical Contractors was performing routine electrical maintenance at a manufacturing plant. The facility was only 4 years old with all new electrical equipment.

While at the facility, Transworld, Inc. electricians discovered that the medium voltage jumper cables on the secondary side of the disconnect switch to the transformer were improperly installed. The unshielded medium voltage cables didnt have the correct clearance between phases. Our electricians were able to reroute the conductor to provide proper clearance.

Without performing de-energized testing, the improper installation would have gone unfound. In the event of a failure, the cost associated with it would have been greater than $250,000 for repairs and weeks of downtime. Transworld, Inc. Electrical Contractors was able to complete the repairs during the shutdown for $360.
